There are a lot of relationships going on and theirs, I think, is particularly powerful and gut-wrenching and beautiful.

I kind of want to talk about this moment forever but not in examining Castus’ death, which I’ve done elsewhere and I still have so many feelings about, but about the physical work that Dan is doing with Pana here and how he is interacting with the space around him.

Because it speaks to a lot of what Nasir and Agron clearly decided in this episode, in this last battle, after Agron got back. Whether they actually had a discussion about it or it was just something they had subconsciously decided. But it was clear throughout this whole battle, they would not be parted from each other. Period.

I think this scene especially illustrates that because Nasir is clearly down for the count, totally out of it and needs a moment to grieve for his friend. Agron, because he’s right beside Nasir, has seen Castus fall. He’s literally right behind Nasir as soon as Nasir moves in a different direction.

And then, he’s just this huge comforting wall right behind Nasir. Just in the midst of this huge crazy battle, Nasir is totally checked out for a moment and Agron has to be his eyes and his sense. His physical presence is taking up so much space behind Nasir and Castus. He’s looking around, watching for danger while Nasir is able to be there for Castus. He is up on one knee while Nasir is fully collapsed on the ground. He has his hand on Nasir’s shoulder, not just as a comfort, but also just making sure Nasir knows he is there and Agron making sure he doesn’t lose Nasir during this moment and that he could grab him at any moment and pull him away.

And just the fact Agron has grown and matured so much that his reaction to what Castus says isn’t irrational jealousy or flying off the handle, he’s genuinely moved and upset. He’s upset because Castus is dead now and he might never get to know this man, will never get to be his friend, his brother, they’ll never get to talk about how much they both love and adore Nasir and that perhaps the last man that has any idea how to relate to Agron on that level is gone now. No one else knows how it is to be overtaken completely by Nasir.

That he knows what he has in Nasir is so important and makes life worth living for him but also because Nasir is upset. He flips out when Nasir flips out, he gets angry when Nasir does. Because Nasir is his heart and soul and if Nasir is upset, then so is he.

When Nasir goes off, Agron goes off with him. When Nasir lets out a battle cry, so does Agron. Just. Gorgeous. This couple, y’all. Whatever happens, it happens together.

I love it how everyone else is like “Tony, what the fuck is this shit?” and Thor’s like “I will kill it and then use it’s skeleton for shelter!”
